| Founded 52 years ago by the conductor
Michael Taube, the Israel Chamber Orchestra Ramat-Gan was the
first of its kind in Israel. Since then numerous well known artists
have performed with the ICOR: Bertini, Inbal, Comissiona, Rampal and others.
The ICOR is known for its outstanding programs and performances,
and various music festivals frequently invite the orchestra.
In its support of contemporary Israeli music the ICOR regularly
performs new works by prominent Israeli composers.
In addition to its subscription series
in Ramat-Gan the ICOR gives family concerts throughout
the country which are greeted by an enthusiastic young audience.
The Israel Chamber Orchestra Ramat-Gan, which consists of twenty
permanent string players, is integrated in the Cultural Department
of the Municipality of Ramat-Gan.
In 1996 the conductor Aviv Ron was appointed music director.
